This firm has provided responsible, professional engineering services for many hundreds of projects in the Santa Cruz county area.  The following are previous projects selected as examples of the wide range of residential projects successfully conducted by this office.



Clearwater Court, 8-Lot Residential Project, Alice Street and Portola Drive, Santa Cruz County, California.
  • Multiple single family dwelling project.
  • Special grading issues due to shallow groundwater and spring activity at the site.
  • Both shallow foundation and deep pier foundation observations, grading compaction testing and observations, and subdrain trench designs and observation.
Navas Residential Project, Laurel Glen Road, Soquel, California.
  • Steep hillside project required special geotechnical investigations and recommendations for a new bridge, a new main residence wing, a new two-story, detached garage, and a renovated two-story auxiliary building.
  • The project geologist determined the site contained several potential sources of debris flow landslides which could inundate the buildings.
  • Required mitigation of existing and new grading at the site.
  • Geotechnical input and selected designs for many structures, which included both shallow and deep pier foundations, two debris impact walls with both pier and gravity type foundations, numerous retaining walls, and a large landslide debris retention basin graded into the nearby steep hillside.
  • This has been an on-going project constructed in phases for approximately nine years.
Harbor Beach Homes, 11-Lot Residential Project, 7th Avenue, Santa Cruz, California.
  • Multiple single family dwelling project.
  • Required extensive grading observation and testing.
  • Shallow and deep pier foundation observation services.
  • The project construction continued into the winter rain season, which required special problem solving for economical compaction of the on-site wet soil conditions.
Naraghi Residence, Paradise Park, Santa Cruz, California.
  • Three-story residence
  • Very soft, recent flood plain deposits and required special attention due to the potential for very excessive building settlement and liquefaction issues.
  • The residence and large deck were installed on structural mat foundations under the direction and supervision of this office.
